Pas unctual as spring they arrive on Rai 1 and RaiPlay – from tonight at 9.40pm – the new episodes of Morgane – Brilliant detective, French cult series now in its fifth and final season. The protagonist as always is the exuberant Audrey Fleurot, in the role of a cleaning lady with a very high IQ who ends up collaborating with investigations by a police station in France. And to start a family with the inspector he works with.
Morgane – Brilliant detective: the plot of the first episode of season 5, where to see it
The first episode consists of two episodes, Bottom up And Galatea. After the birth of her fourth child, Léo, Morgane (Audrey Fleurot) moves with the whole family to the home of Karadec (Mehdi Nebbou), father of the last born. The couple finds themselves managing a crowded house, a chaotic life, made even more complicated by the fact that the small Léo seems to have inherited his mother’s rebellious character.
Once her maternity leave is over, resuming work is very complex for Morgane between a house and four children with different needs to manage. There’s no shortage of domestic tension with Karadec and a couple of very bizarre murder cases. For example, in the first episode, the death of a man in a road accidentwhich Morgane, thanks to her intuition, will discover to be a murder carried out with a premeditated plan.
In the second episode, however, the couple investigates the death of a person who was sharing the car with other passengers but, in the meantime, for Léo it is the first day at nursery and Karadec, who struggles to cut the umbilical cord, takes his little son to the crime scene. For the detective in stiletto heels and painted nails, aided by an extravagant police team, she therefore presents herself a very eventful period of workfull of twists but also many funny situations.

The final season despite the success: why?
Great success in France, and also in Italy, Morgane Brilliant Detective works perfectly for mixing between crime fiction, comedy and an overwhelming and non-conformist female protagonist. Despite legions of fans all over the world though – the American adaptation was also released last January High Potential –, after this fifth season the series will not be renewed.
Audrey Fleurot explained this in an interview with the portal Tèlé 7 Joursalso anticipating something about the series finale. «It was a very difficult decision to make and that’s why I want to announce it well enough in advance, to prepare myself», said the actress, «If I listened to myself, I’d still have some fun with Morgane, but she’s not a character built to last. I can only say that the family is a concept that today takes on a thousand forms and, at the end of the fifth season, Morgane will invent something that no one expects.”

Born near Paris in 1977 to a childcare mother and a firefighter father, Audrey Fleurot she has loved acting since she was a child. After the studies, the first roles arrive in TV and cinemaalways surfing between various genres: comedy, thriller, genre films and period series.
Chameleon-like and full of talent, Fleurot has always refused to limit herself to a specific role (even if she does very well in that of a femme fatale). The real turning point came with the interpretation of the cynical criminal lawyer Joséphine Karlsson in the Canal+ television series Spiralfamous in France but also in the United Kingdom. At the cinema, however, she was appreciated Almost friends – next to Omar Sy – and in Midnight in Paris by Woody Allen.
After the success of Morgane – Brilliant detectivein 2022 it was protagonist of a successful Netflix series: The fighters and we will see it soon alongside Sting in the historical film Kaamelott – Deuxième Volet. In her private life she is passionate about tango, which she has been dancing for ten years, and cosmetics. Married to director Djibril Glissant, she has a son born in 2015: Lou.
