After a short renovation phase, Robert Ley has reopened his branch in Neuss. It is the fifth store in a row that the multi-brand chain store based in Euskirchen has expanded together with the interior designer KNOBLAUCH. The goal: The Robert Ley identity should also be noticeable in the 3,000 square meter area in Neuss.
Neuss/Markdorf. When multi-brand retailers like Robert Ley expand, that means they need scalable concepts that work – regardless of rooms or buildings. A store concept that can be rolled out flexibly to different locations and at the same time has a high recognition effect.
Konrad Knoblauch GmbH designed exactly such a store concept for Robert Ley – and has now gradually rolled it out to the various branches in the Cologne area. The most recent milestone: the reopening of the store in Neuss.
In Neuss, around 3,000 square meters of space had to be converted over two floors. “The very intricate building with lots of angles, columns and low ceilings was a challenge for us, but we solved it well,” reports interior designer Lena Dünser, who helped develop Robert Ley’s design concept.
The solution: Window fronts that were previously closed were opened up as much as possible, thus creating more width and space. The goal was to get a view all the way to the back of the room.
The design and material language is reduced here, as in all newly designed branches. With the help of light ash wood, black lacquered oak and black coated metal, it appears calm and clear so that the brands can be presented optimally. There are also 14 SIS areas in the store, all of which have been coordinated with each other.
Another milestone for Robert Ley
“With the reopening of our store in Neuss, we are setting another important milestone on the way to a clearly recognizable, independent brand. The former Cruse Fashion Club has become an open, modern Robert Ley house that makes our values and our standards of hospitality tangible,” explains Christian Schwenk, Managing Director at Robert Ley.
A consistent look and feel, spacious areas, lounges and a free bar create an atmosphere in which our customers feel welcome and enjoy staying. “In this way, we combine stationary retail and brand experience in a contemporary and inspiring way,” says Schwenk.
Unlike in the other stores, the bar – a trademark of the Robert Ley stores – is not in the middle, but on the side, directly at the entrance. But it also acts as a community point that not only offers a fine espresso, but also recognition value. At this point at the latest, customers know: We are with Robert Ley!
And since Robert Ley puts service first, there is not only a spacious bar and lounge with free coffee, wine and prosecco, but also spacious cabins in which there is enough space and customers feel comfortable. A real Robert Ley branch, that is.
