“More popular than the Oscars”: Greet De Keyser analyzes the Depp versus Heard trial | Lawsuit Johnny Depp vs. Amber Heard

These days you really don’t have to go to Hollywood to experience the thrill of the year in real time. Fairfax City is where it all takes place. The local courthouse is inconspicuously gray but has become world famous as the backdrop to the year’s trial. For a few days now, it has been overwhelmed by a crowd of Johnny Depp fans. “They just keep coming,” says an obviously unhappy sheriff guarding the building. He immediately makes it clear to me that I shouldn’t ask any more questions. He nods in the direction of a piece of paper on the door. “Effective immediately” it says in big capital letters. “Those waiting for the Depp versus Heard trial should not be seated earlier than 1 a.m..” The day before they were there before midnight. All this to be among the first hundred to receive a bracelet every day to attend the trial inside the courthouse. Overtime every day for the local sheriff’s team, which has been going on for weeks.
