More coal than CR7: Crazy Saudi offer for Salah

Not a day has gone by for weeks without a star of European football being linked with a mega move to Saudi Arabia. Now, once again, a Liverpool FC player is to be ensnared with many millions.

Saudi club Al-Ittihad is apparently chasing Liverpool star striker Mohamed Salah. The English “Sun” claims to have experienced this exclusively. Accordingly, the Egyptian should even become the new face of the Saudi Pro League. The offer should be correspondingly lavish.

First of all, a transfer fee of around 175 million euros should make the loss of its top star palatable to Liverpool FC, while Salah in turn should be convinced of a change with an annual base salary of around 115 million euros.

According to “Sun”, Al-Ittihad wants to bind the 31-year-old for five years and also offer him a private jet or unlimited plane tickets for him and his family, as well as a post as ambassador for tourism and investments in Saudi Arabia. The latter post would again be associated with a substantial salary.

In addition, Salah is said to have the prospect of buying shares in a team in the Saudi league in the future. In the medium term, the government, which provides some clubs with endless financial resources, would like private owners to enter the competition.

Liverpool FC to refuse sale

All in all, Salah is said to earn even more than Cristiano Ronaldo, who is said to pocket 173 million euros per season at Al-Nassr.

According to “BBC” information, however, Liverpool FC is not interested in selling Salah. The striker extended his contract until 2025 last summer. Salah’s manager also recently emphasized that his protégé’s future lies with coach Jürgen Klopp’s club.

However, the Reds also know how quickly the wind can turn: With Fabinho, Roberto Firmino and Jordan Henderson, the club has already let three players move to Saudi Arabia.
