The main Belgian presence in the port of Dunkirk is the chip giant Clarebout from Heuvelland and Waasten. It has two production lines, good for 1,400 tons of frozen fries per day. “One of the production lines has been in service since November 2023, the other since 2024,” said Daniel Deschodt, the port authority’s general manager. “Clarebout brings added value to the port, creates jobs and develops an important port activity.”
