Monty Norman, who composed the theme music for James Bond, has died

Composer Monty Norman, 94, has died, reports The Guardian, among others.

The British composer is particularly well known James Bond – about the legendary theme music he composed for the films. Norman’s work has also been heard in successful West End musicals.

The death was announced on the composer’s website. Norman died of a short illness on July 11th.

The composer’s most famous work was heard in the first Bond film in 1962. The film starred Sean Connery.
