Moncler Group increases quarterly sales by 61 percent

The Italian clothing retailer Moncler SpA achieved a strong increase in sales in the first quarter of 2022. Thanks to the significant growth in the core brand Moncler and the takeover of the Stone Island label last year.

As the company announced on Wednesday in the run-up to its Investors’ Day, the Moncler Group’s consolidated sales amounted to EUR 589.9 million in the months from January to March. This corresponded to an increase of 61 percent compared to the same quarter of the previous year. Adjusted for exchange rate changes, revenues grew by 60 percent.

Thanks to “solid double-digit growth in all sales channels and regions”, the Moncler brand was able to increase its sales by 30 percent (currency-adjusted +29 percent) compared to the first quarter of last year to 473.4 million euros. Revenues were thus also well above the level of the pre-Corona period: Compared to the first quarter of 2019, they grew by 27 percent after currency adjustments.

The Stone Island label, the results of which have only been included in the balance sheet since the takeover on April 1 of last year, contributed sales of 116.5 million euros. Compared to the same quarter of the previous year, when the brand was not yet part of the Moncler Group, sales increased by 32 percent (currency-adjusted +31 percent).
