An internationally successful model Saara Sihvonen, 31, debunks modeling myths in her Instagram post. Sihvonen answers two general questions that he hears often.

According to the model, the comments are often related to how the models relate to each other and whether they always compete with each other. In her publication, Saara has shared group photos with her model colleagues, with whom she has a close relationship.

– There are five women in this picture, without whom I would never enjoy modeling as much as I do because of them, Sihvonen begins in the caption.

He wants to answer questions about models and thereby influence people’s perceptions. According to Sihvonen, the models, i.e. his colleagues, apply for the same job offers, but sometimes some get a position and some don’t.

Although there is competition for the same jobs, so to speak, there is an agreement between the models. If a colleague gets his dream job, Sihvonen at least cheers and congratulates him, because his colleague’s success is not lost on him.

According to the model, people and teamwork are cherished in the fashion world. The strength is to work together and not alone.

– The core and heart of the fashion world are people. In the end, models are just people who have the same needs as each of us: to be seen, heard and to experience connection with other people, Sihvonen emphasizes.

According to the model, there is more of an atmosphere in the fashion world that encourages others and rejoices in others’ successes than a competitive and negative attitude. He has received encouragement and support from his agent, but also from his colleagues. Others are supported and comforted in different situations.

– Each of the women in this picture is a tough fighter in international waters. We’ve sat with each of them in casting queues and called them to lunch, and comforted them at the camp when the big crazy job options have passed!

According to Sihvonen, the models are not in competition with each other, but they treat each other humanely. You get job options in turn, and the success of another is already a victory.

In his publication, he finally thanks his colleagues who have been supportive in every situation. Sihvonen describes that without them he would not have reached as far in his career as he has now.
