“I know I used to be crazy. I know I used to be funny. You say I used to be wild I say I was young once,” Cyrus captioned a video showing a sun-drenched street where a building is plastered with posters of her face and lyrics from her bygone eras in chronological order, including “I hopped off the plane at LAX.” from “Party in the USA”, “I can almost see it, that dream I’m dreaming” from “The Climb”, “I came in like a wrecking ball” from “Wrecking Ball” and “I can buy myself flowers” from “Flowers”.

At the end, a poster appears with a previously unreleased song text “I say I used to be young”.

Cyrus also changed several thumbnails on her YouTube videos to read “USED TO BE YOUNG” in all caps.

Though Miley hasn’t yet confirmed whether the tweet means a new track is in the works, fans shared their excitement about the new material in the comments.

The teaser comes months after the release of Cyrus’ eighth studio album, ENDLESS SUMMER VACATION, which was released in March. The single release “Flowers” stayed at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 for eight weeks. In June 2023, Billboard named “Flowers” the best song of 2023 so far.
