Miley Cyrus has happy news to announce: After four years of dating, she has gotten engaged to musician Maxx Morando. The engagement was announced on Tuesday, December 2, after the couple appeared on the red carpet at the premiere of Avatar 3: Fire and Ash the day before.
New ring revealed Cyrus and her partner
As “Billboard” reports, the two musicians attended the film premiere on December 1st and appeared together on the red carpet. Cyrus contributed the song “Dream as One” to the film project. During the performance, she wore a new gold ring that set the rumor mill abuzz. On December 2, People confirmed that the couple had gotten engaged.
Cyrus and Morando have been together for four years. In an interview with British Vogue, Cyrus once explained how she and her fiancé met: “We went on a blind date. It was a blind date for me, not really for him. I thought: The worst thing that can happen is that I leave.”
The couple subsequently began working together professionally. Morando collaborated on songs for Cyrus’ albums Endless Summer Vacation and Something Beautiful.
Not Cyrus’ first marriage
The engagement is not the singer’s first. She was already married to actor Liam Hemsworth. The two dated on and off since 2009 and married in 2017. However, the marriage only lasted a year before the couple finally separated.
In 2024, Cyrus explained to Harper’s Bazaar why her relationship with Morando, who is six years her junior, worked: “He’s a lot like me. We both don’t take life too seriously.”
