One man was arrested, but there were ten who committed the violence during the night between Friday and Saturday

About ten young people surrounded them, attempted to rob them and then turned their attention only on the girl. The intervention of the club’s security staff prevented the worst and made the attackers escape. One of them, a 36-year-old Egyptian man resident in Bergamo, he was arrested and is in San Vittore accused of sexual assault and robbery.

The attack occurred after 4 on Saturday 11 January. The victims are a 21 year old boy originally from Sicily and his nineteen year old girlfriend from Puglia. After leaving the nightclub where the evening was ending Iconic Partythe two boys had stopped in the supermarket car park next to the nightclub Alcatrazin via Valtellina, for a moment of intimacy. Suddenly they would appear about ten boys, all North African according to the description provided by the victims, who tried to take the boy’s cell phone and wallet but he resisted. They then shifted their attention to the girl, trying to take her bag, but she also resisted. At that point one of them approached and started to groping her private parts. Thanks to the screams and the arrival of security, the attackers escaped.

The bouncers started chasing one of the attackers and the scene was noticed by one Carabinieri patrol which was engaged in night checks in the nightlife areas. The military thus blocked the man’s escape and arrested him, reconstructing what happened with the bouncers. The police also listened to the two boys, having confirmed that the man was one of the members of the group and above all that he was the perpetrator of the harassment suffered by the girl. The arrested person is Hassan Mansour N., with a clean criminal record, resident in Gorno sulla Bergamasca and was arrested red-handed for attempted robbery and sexual assault. While they were all still on site, the victim saw three North African boys passing on the opposite pavement, indicating one of them as a member of the group. But she was not able to say whether the 20-year-old Egyptian arrested had actually taken part in the attack. The investigations into his account are still ongoing. The cameras present at the site of the attack, confirmed the victims’ story and the presence of the arrested 36-year-old.
The police started from the two arrested people and from the images of the parking lot, to try to trace the names of the others present at the attack. A year ago in the same parking lot uA 19-year-old boy had raped an American girl his age who he had met inside the nightclub. Even in that case the bouncers intervened and the boy was arrested.
