On August 24, 2021, the legendary Charlie Watts passed away at the age of 80. Mick Jagger paid a touching tribute to his late Rolling Stones bandmate on the first anniversary of his death.
He posted a clip on Twitter that played the Stones song “Till The Next Goodbye” from 1974 to numerous images of Watts. Jagger commented:
“I miss Charlie because he had a great sense of humor. We also had a life outside the band… we hung out together a lot and had fun times. We loved sports: we went to football, we went to cricket matches and we had other interests than just music.”

The singer finally added, “But of course I really miss Charlie.”
Jagger had already emphasized on other occasions how much he missed Charlie Watts as a friend.
The Rolling Stones recently returned to the big stages without their late drummer to celebrate the 60th anniversary of their founding. The “Sixty” tour ended with a glorious concert at Berlin’s Waldbühne. Of course, this show was also dedicated to him. Steve Jordan played drums for Watts during the tour.
