Michael van Gerwen starts the World Championship with a convincing victory

Michael van Gerwen has had an excellent start to the World Darts Championships in London. The Brabander defeated 21-year-old Keane Barry from Ireland 3-0 on Tuesday evening in the second round. It is not yet clear who Van Gerwen’s next opponent is.

Van Gerwen will be hunting for his fourth world title at Alexandra Palace. The previous edition he reached the final, where he lost to ‘Bully Boy’ Michael Smith.

In any case, his start at this World Cup was very convincing, as his opponent only took two legs in total. The highlight of the match was a throw of 167 in the second set.
