Michael van Gerwen (36) has not succeeded in winning his first Premier League evening of the year. In a repeat of the World Cup final, Luke Littler in Birmingham took his fifth (!) Evening victory of the year, a performance that has not been shown before. Schraal consolation for Van Gerwen: Through victories on Rob Cross and Gerwyn Price, the Dutchman did do good business in the battle for the play-offs.
