Metallica donates 40,000 euros to Dutch foundation against domestic violence | show

Metallica kicked off their M72 World Tour in the Johan Cruijff ArenA last week. The band’s non-profit organization, All Within My Hands, donated 40,000 euros to Blij Groep on Saturday on the second night of the concert.

Hanneke Bakker, director of Blij Groep, thanks the metal band for the donation. “It’s overwhelming that a band like Metallica shares success with those who face the ugly side of life. Sleeping with one eye open – as in the Metallica song – is what women, men and children who have experienced domestic violence do. It determines their lives, health and future. With Metallica’s donation, we can make their lives safer.”

Remain Group wants to use part of the amount to realize a second Orange House in Amsterdam. In an Oranje Huis, shelter, support and guidance are offered to victims of domestic violence.
