The biggest and most important fashion gala at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art made the stars and the fashion crowd put their best foot forward.
The theme of the annual fashion gala this year was “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty.”
The stars paid tribute to the late fashion designer, either by copying her usual black and white attire or by being inspired by her most stunning creations. At last year’s Met Gala, bright pink was the number one choice of the stars. This year the situation is completely different. Because of the theme, this year the most amazing costumes were black, white, red or beige.
During his long career, Lagerfeld made a record of designing magnificent costumes for brands such as Balmain, Patou, Chloé, Fendi, Chanel, as well as for his own brand, Lagerfeld. So the style stars had a lot of sources of inspiration for their clothes.

Actor Anne Hathaway was best dressed at the Met Gala. Her gorgeous outfit was a cut above the rest. Hathaway had donned a custom-made creation for her. The most stunning dress at the Met Gala was by the fashion house Versace, although there are many nuances of the elements characteristic of the fashion house Chanel. The pearls and the fabric of the evening gown almost scream Chanel’s name.
