Ignacia Fernández is now Miss World Chile. Next year she could be named the most beautiful woman in the world.
A theatrical performance is part of the Miss pageants in order to convince the jury. But these rarely have anything to do with metal. Not so with Ignacia Fernández. The participant in the Miss World pageant in Chile surprised everyone in the semifinals of the competition with a rousing death metal performance. The audience and judges couldn’t believe their ears!

However, this wasn’t an act for the singer, as the 27-year-old is also the lead singer of the metal combo Decessus. She also received support on stage from her guitarist Carlos Palma.
Her musical talent, which was visible to all, and other advantages that inevitably make the difference in a beauty contest ensured that Fernández was able to win the election on Sunday. The newly elected Miss World Chile will face international competition next year and could be the first metal musician to be named “the most beautiful woman in the world”.
Declaration of love for metal
After her performance in the semifinals, Fernández wrote on Instagram: “Metal is a fundamental part of my personality and my life: a refuge, a source of strength and meaning. The opportunity to express this on the stage of Chilevision and Miss Mundo Chile was great. It was a great experience to overcome barriers on television, to inspire, to be authentic and to show that you don’t have to be afraid of other people’s prejudices.”
After winning the entire competition on Sunday, Fernández shared a photo of herself as Miss World Chile 2025 Instagram and wrote: “I couldn’t be happier and more grateful! I accept this beautiful challenge with all my energy and heart and am ready to represent my country in the best way possible. I promise to do my best with passion, hard work and determination.”
She added: “Thank you for the global recognition of my singing, a part of my soul that inspires me to keep growing and dreaming big. Here we go, Chile…let’s take the crown!”
