Actor and director Mel Gibson69, and his spouse Rosalind Ross35, are splitting after nine years together. The couple announces People– magazine that they have already divorced a year ago.
– Although it is sad to end this chapter of our lives, we are blessed with our beautiful son. We continue to play the role of parents as well as possible, the couple says in their statement.
The couple says they will continue their child born in 2017 Lars as joint guardians. Gibson already has eight children.
Gibson and Ross met through mutual friends in 2014. Their relationship started soon after they first met. Three years later, Lars was born just days before Gibson was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Director for Hacksaw Ridge.

The couple lost their Malibu home in the Los Angeles wildfires in January 2025. Gibson was not home at the time, but his family was safely evacuated.
– The good news is that my family and loved ones are doing well and we are happy, healthy and safe. That’s the only thing I really care about,” Gibson told NewsNation in January after the wildfires.
Currently, Gibson is working on the film he is directing The Resurrection of the Christwhich is a sequel to the 2004 film The Passion of the Christ. In the upcoming film, Jesus will be starred by a Finnish actor Jaakko Ohtonen.
