Three thousand kilos of cocaine, with a street value of a few hundred million euros. That mega drug bust in Moerdijk made all the headlines last summer. Not only because of the amount of the white powder, but also because of the place where it was discovered: in a Brazilian telescopic crane.

During the spectacular raid by the special Seaport team of the police, three men were arrested: the boss (64) of the company, a man (43) from Westmaas (near Barendrecht) and a Cambodian (32). They recently appeared in court for the first time.

But how did that gigantic load of coke end up in Brabant? What brought the trio on the police radar? And why did the Cambodian student take selfies with the infamous crane?

Curious about the answers to those questions? You can see it in the new episode of Crime Explained.
