The National Police Unit started its ‘entry’ into the countryside on Monday morning. In addition to the raid on the business premises, the police also carried out three searches in Breda and one in Roosendaal.

Three of the arrested suspects are from Breda. They are 21, 25 and 35 years old. In addition, it concerns a 30-year-old man from Colombia, a 38-year-old man from England, a 41-year-old man from Morocco and a 50-year-old man from Bulgaria.

An eighth suspect, a 47-year-old man from Roosendaal, was only arrested on Monday evening.

Information came from abroad

The National Investigation and Interventions unit started an investigation led by the National Public Prosecutor’s Office based on information obtained from abroad.

The search was then carried out in, among other things, the warehouse in Standdaarbuiten; a village that is part of the municipality of Moerdijk, not far from the A59. In addition to the large quantity of cocaine, a firearm was also found.

Suspects arraigned on Thursday

The drugs, the firearm and several vehicles were seized. In this investigation, the National Investigation and Interventions unit worked together with the Zeeland-West Brabant unit.

The suspects are under full restrictions and will be brought before the examining magistrate on Thursday.
