McLaren made the McL39 shakedown on the Silverstone track this morning. The car at first glance denotes a deep Family feeling with the previous one, but this must not deceive. Although the Camouflage livery hides the precise lines of the single -seater, it has already been possible to notice through the images spread by the Woking team, a profound aging of the project both dynamic and aerodynamic level.

We obviously do not take into consideration the wings that correspond to one of the latest configurations seen on the MCL38, while it is absolutely relevant to note the kinematic of the front suspension, characterized by a very inclined top triangle, with the point of attack of the very low rear arm, Practically almost at the same level as the fulcrum as the pull Rod. It is therefore interesting how the anti different feature of the front suspension appears very accentuated compared to the previous model and this is further confirmed by the greater height of the front arm of the lower triangle, in the comparison with the previous one. Also in this case it was therefore tried to increase the inclination of the triangle for the same reasons why the inclination of the upper one has been increased. The sides have a less bombed profile to the outside, but above all it affects the bodywork at the base of the engine hood much less voluminous and with an almost rectilinear profile, compared to the bombed one of the MCL38.

There is also a different position, to be verified in the tests in Bahrain, of the lower triangle of the rear suspension, which denotes a change of its kinematic, hidden by the different conformation of the rear bodywork of the car. In essence, Andrea Stella’s statements can be subscribed to the sidelines of this Shakedown from now on, on the fact that the single -seater constitutes the arrival point of a difficult and hard work of preparation in an attempt to increase the strengths of the car, respect to the previous one. Already now it can be glimpsed how the similarity is strong, the MCL39 is a decidedly more extreme car than the MCL38.
