Mbappé’s comeback hit too little for PSG

Kylian Mbappé made a successful comeback at Paris St. Germain and added a real punch line to the dispute about his future – but even the world star couldn’t ensure the first win of the season.

Ten minutes after he came on as a substitute in the game at FC Toulouse, Mbappé scored a penalty kick (61st) to make it 1-0, he had taken the penalty himself.

However, Toulouse were also awarded a penalty kick, Zakaria Aboukhlal (87th) scored to make it 1-1 (0-0). Ex-Bremer Niklas Schmidt came on again.

With two points from two games, PSG started the season extremely disappointing, after all, Mbappé now scored the first goal of the season for the defending champion.

Kylian Mbappé pardoned at PSG

The striker, who was recently retired, quickly proved his importance for the club again. The international was only pardoned last weekend and allowed back into first-team training, but his future remains a matter of dispute.

The attacker does not want to extend his contract on the Seine, which expires on June 30, 2024, and the club could then lose his most expensive star for free.

PSG actually wanted to sell the top scorer in this transfer window, but Mbappé rejected, among other things, an offer from Saudi Arabia worth 700 million euros for one year.
