The start of the season is one to forget for SV Werder Bremen. Another player is injured for the time being

For Werder Bremen, the DFB Cup has another unsightly aftermath: defender Maximilian Wöber will lack the team for several weeks. The 27-year-old injured his right thigh on Friday evening at 0-1 against second division Arminia Bielefeld. As the club announced, it is a muscle injury.

The Austrian international, whom Werder had signed in the summer of Leeds United in the summer, had to be replaced in the 79th minute. One thing is clear: Wöber will not be available at the Bundesliga opening. Next Saturday (3:30 p.m. in the T-Online Live Tickier) Bremen will compete near Eintracht Frankfurt, which will play in the Champions League this season.

This enlarges the Bremen personnel worries even further. Amos Pieper, Mitchell Weiser and Jens Stage are also canceled at the start of the season.
