Max Verstappen has achieved his fourth F1 title and thus consolidated his position. Afterwards he had to do interviews – not completely sober, as he confessed.

Max Verstappen is now a four-time Formula 1 world champion. The Red Bull driver was crowned with the title in 2021, 2022, 2023 and this year. But not all triumphs are equal. The Dutchman admitted this on Monday in the ServusTV program “Sport and Talk from Hangar-7”.

He explained: “It was the hardest, but not the most beautiful title. That was last year.” When asked by the moderator about his interview marathon in Las Vegas, Verstappen replied with a smile: “I already had five or six beers and two gin and tonics.”

By winning the title again, Verstappen drew level with Sebastian Vettel. The German also became world champion four times with Red Bull between 2010 and 2013. Michael Schumacher and Lewis Hamilton hold the record with seven titles. Juan Manuel Fangio was chosen five times. In addition to Verstappen and Vettel, Alain Prost also won four titles. Ayrton Senna, Nelson Piquet, Jackie Stewart, Niki Lauda and Jack Brabham each became world champions three times.

Verstappen said about his triumphs on the show: “That makes me proud and I wouldn’t have believed it if someone had told me that at the beginning.”
