– Sad news, Matti “Masa” Saari has passed away due to a serious illness, the publication says.

Saari is remembered, for example, as the bassist of the band The Goldies. The group performing music from the 1960s has been seen, for example, in the background of Danny.

Singer of the band The Goldies Curre Andersén tells Iltalehte that Saari died at the age of 74.

Andersén describes Saari as his musical director and left hand. Among other things, Saari took care of the right stems in the band.

Andersén also remembers Saari’s laughter and joy.

– All we had to do was watch, and we started laughing, Andersén says and describes how the laughter often spread to the audience as well.

Andersén also highlights Saare’s career in music. Saari, who started playing bass at the age of 14, has worked with, among others, Olavi Virta.

In addition to music and a joint band, Andersén and Saar are united by friendship.
