Record national player and TV expert Lothar Matthäus has explained why Edin Terzic is allowed to continue working at Borussia Dortmund. The BVB coach obviously has two factors to thank for this.
Borussia Dortmund will continue to rely on the services of Edin Terzic in the new year. This is said to have emerged from a recent crisis meeting between BVB officials after the game against Mainz 05 (1:1).
But why is the coach allowed to continue even though the runner-up in the Bundesliga is not only hugely behind the championship contenders, but also a considerable distance away from the lucrative premier class ranks? TV expert Lothar Matthäus has a guess.
“Edin Terzic was saved by the results in the Champions League and Hans-Joachim Watzke’s statement six months ago. At that time, the BVB boss announced that they would go into the next few years with Terzic,” explained Matthäus on “Sky”.
“If only the results from the national competitions had been assessed, the decision would certainly not have been in favor of Terzic. In the Bundesliga and the DFB Cup, BVB did not show what the team has in terms of quality,” said the TV expert puts his finger in the black and yellow’s wound.
BVB: Terzic under pressure

Borussia Dortmund is currently in fifth place in the Bundesliga with just 27 points. Not enough for the demands of the reigning runner-up, who are already six points behind RB Leipzig in fourth place in the Champions League.
Terzic had received the confidence of the club bosses on Thursday, but according to a report by “WAZ”, there are said to be players in the team who are by no means of the opinion that the turnaround could be achieved under Terzic – a circumstance that the trainer is definitely aware of feet could fall.
