Match winner Van den Heerik enjoys explosion of joy at Telstar: “What is happening there?”

An explosion of joy in which dozens of supporters fell through the fence. Quinten van den Heerik scored the winning goal (3-2) in the very last second of Telstar – Jong Ajax and gave the home team their first win of the season. Fortunately, everything ended well and the match winner was able to laugh about it: “I thought: what is happening there? It looked funny.”

Van den Heerik did not have a starting place against Jong Ajax. After more than an hour of play, he joined Danzell Gravenberch’s team, who had made it 2-1 shortly after halftime. “You always want to play, but the coach sets up the team that he thinks is the best,” said Van den Heerik.

Customer loyalty

Trainer Mike Snoei thought that his team served the massive crowd with three points and an attractive match. Even though he no longer counted on victory after the 2-2 in the final phase by Gabriel Misehouy of Jong Ajax.

Telstar jumps over Jong Ajax in the rankings, which is now the bottom of the first division and that hurts.

“Winning is definitely something that matters at Jong Ajax, because you play professional football,” says coach Dave Vos. “Winning is the only thing that is asked of the first team and that too in a certain way. The mistakes we make and the defensive moments, we have to get rid of them quickly,”
