The Turkish football champion Trabzonspor has to look for a new coach: Abdullah Avci announced his resignation three days after the 2-1 defeat against bottom team Ümraniyespor.
Avci led the club to their first league title in 38 years last season. “It’s time to say goodbye to Trabzonspor, which I love so much, and to the beautiful people of this beautiful city,” Avci tweeted.
Trabzonspor is only sixth after 23 matchdays. Club president Ahmet Agaoglu had already resigned last week.
