The decision is: Marko Johansson will leave Eintracht Braunschweig. The goalkeeper’s contract with the Lower Saxony is not extended.

Eintracht Braunschweig made another personnel decision shortly before the start of the season preparation. As the BTSV announced on Wednesday, goalkeeper Marko Johansson will leave the club. The expiring contract of the 26-year-old will not be extended, the statement says.

Johansson was hired last summer as a backup for loan Lennart Grill by Hamburger SV. Because Grill’s services remained behind the expectations, Johansson preferred to be preferred in the course of the season and came up with eleven competitive operations. He kept the zero three times.

When goalkeeper Ron-Thorben Hoffmann returned to Braunschweig from FC Schalke 04 in winter, Johansson moved back to the second member. Now his commitment to Eintracht comes to an end after only one year. Where it goes on for him is so far open.

In Justin Duda, the BTSV also clarified the future of another goalkeeper. The association extended its contract until 2027. In parallel to the contract extension, the parties agreed to a loan to regional league SG Baroque city of Fulda-Lehnerz. The loan of the 22-year-old, who has been playing for Eintracht since 2019, applies to the entire coming season.
