Updated Persian Gulf Pro League
After the update in the Persian Gulf Pro League, there is a new most valuable player in Iran’s top division. Tractor FC’s Ricardo Alves replaces Foolad’s Roberto Torres at the helm. The Portuguese midfielder, who joined from Kairat Almaty last summer, is up €300,000 to €1.5m. In return, ex-Osasuna professional Torres is down 800,000 to 1.2 million euros.
The 34-year-old, who is also the biggest loser of the update, moved from LaLiga to Iran in January, which is why his market value is adjusted downwards not only because of his age but also because of the weaker league. The biggest winner, meanwhile, is Esteghlal FC’s Mehdi Ghayedi, who has booked an increase of €700,000 to €1.4m, doubling his value. The 24-year-old left winger, the most valuable Iranian in the league, became the league’s top scorer with twelve goals and eight assists.
