Margriet van der Linden makes a fierce confession in the Varagids about her first TV job at the VARA, but isn’t she going too far for that? “She gives an extremely much price about his identity.”
For years she could be seen with her own talk show M, currently she is bothered a bit more: Margriet van der Linden. Now all the spotlights are again focused on her, because the presenter is in the newest Varagist A fierce revelation. She says that at the beginning of 2022 she was attacked by old traumas when the Voice scandal erupted.
PTSD
What exactly is it? Margriet: “For everything, I am a woman who really doesn’t really awake about something. Certainly not all kinds of peripheral issues at the television and in the media that can disturb the night’s sleep. But some things are suddenly at the gate of radical honesty and can still be overwhelmed you, as happened to me, early 2022.”
In that year Tim Hofman came up with his voice avoidings. “I had my talk show M and attached that we would pay thorough and powerful attention to all this. But something happened to me that was diagnosed later as PTSD.”
Trauma
A trauma came up at Margriet. “My experience is now more than thirty years ago when I was a young journalist – I was 23 – my first job at the VARA. I remember that I was entering the building on the Heuvellaan in Hilversum for my job interview, saw the photos in the hall of the reception, Astrid Joosten and of course … Sonja Barend.”
She continues: “The week before the start, the editor -in -chief called the proposal in advance to the Monday on which we would start with the team to have an informal introduction in Amsterdam. That introduction became an assault by the editor -in -chief.”
Shingles
The following week Margriet fell ill. “An outbreak of shingles, something I had never had and that the doctor related to stress. Once back to the editors, I was never able to deliver what was asked of me.”
She concludes: “After a few months the end of production came into view, my contract was not extended. Everything I would be so good at was buried under something else.”
