Marco Reus in baby happiness shortly before the Bundesliga restart

BVB star Marco Reus is going into the Bundesliga restart with Borussia Dortmund at Darmstadt 98 on a happy note. The former Borussia captain has become a father for the second time.

Reus (34) and his wife Scarlett Gartmann-Reus (30) announced the birth on Friday via Instagram. “Welcome to the world, little miracle,” they both wrote on a black and white picture. The couple did not reveal the baby’s name or gender.

Reus left the BVB training camp in Marbella early because of the birth. The BVB star and his wife already have a small daughter, now there are three of them.

There have recently been rumors of a change about Reus. As transfer insider Emre Konur reported to “X”, clubs from Saudi Arabia and the North American MLS are keen on the ex-BVB captain.

BVB: Reus away in the summer?

Reus’ contract with BVB expires after the season. According to reports, a decision on an extension will be made in the course of the spring.

However, “Bild” had recently speculated that the 34-year-old’s chances of staying at his heart’s club might no longer be that great.

Accordingly, BVB is planning with the designated new signing and returnee Jadon Sancho not only in his main position, the offensive wing, but also on the ten – i.e. where Reus feels most comfortable. The resulting competition could lead to the veteran, who is no longer employed under coach Edin Terzic, receiving even less playing time in the future – and therefore being able to gather fewer arguments for continued employment at BVB.

Making matters worse is Reus’ alleged role as the ringleader of a team revolt against Terzic, the media report said.

However, the native of Dortmund recently clearly rejected these allegations. “There was no attempted coup. Neither by me nor by other players. Reading that was hard. And it made me angry too,” he said on “Sport1”.
