Marchon Eyewear creates two new leadership positions

With the appointment of Thomas Burkhardt as President of the company, the US eyewear manufacturer Marchon Eyewear Inc. has reallocated important management tasks. Burkhardt’s previous position as senior vice president of global brands, marketing and design has been replaced by two new posts, chief brand officer and chief product officer, Marchon said Thursday.

The two newly created managerial positions were filled by experienced managers. Gabriele Bonapersona, who was most recently Vice President responsible for European fashion and lifestyle brands, has been promoted to Chief Brand Officer and, according to the company, will “lead the Marchon and Altair brand portfolios and the respective brand management teams”. .

Gabriele Cappelli, the previous Vice President of Global Merchandising, took over the post of Chief Product Officer. In the future, he will be responsible for “the areas of product design, product management and merchandising for Marchon and Altair,” the eyewear manufacturer explained. Following their promotions, Bonapersona and Cappelli will join Marchon’s global management leadership team, the company said.

Thomas Burkhardt, who took over the helm of the company in August, welcomed the personnel decisions. “We are very excited about the promotion within the company,” he said in a statement. “Bonapersona and Cappelli have excelled in their previous roles at Marchon Eyewear and these promotions are well deserved. They also demonstrate the value of our succession planning over the years.”
