Fans of Manchester United drink Munich tavern empty

Although your team does not play in Munich at all, hundreds of fans of Manchester United come to the Bavarian capital on Thursday. The reason is a sad one.
February 6th has been a very special day for February 6 for Manchester United supporters. According to a report by the “tz”, around 500 fans of the English record champions traveled to Munich to commemorate the victim of the 1958 aircraft. The crash of the British European Airways flight 609 at Munich-Riem Airport demanded 23 fatalities, including eight players from the legendary Manchester team “Busby Babes”, who were named after their coach Sir Matt Busby.
On the memorial stone on the Manchester Square in Trudering, which has been there since 2008, the United fans gathered at an exact 3:04 p.m.-the time of the crash. Afterwards, many continued to go to the nearby “‘S Truderinger Wirtshaus”. There, the English guests noticed primarily through an extraordinary beer consumption: 15 50-liter barrels were emptied within a very short time, as host Marcel Schmitt-Gratzer reported “TZ”.
But that’s not all. According to the innkeeper, he still expected the consumption of five other barrels – then a total of 1,000 liters of beer. Despite the high consumption, there were no alcohol -related incidents. He only had to intervene occasionally when guests rose to the tables, Schmitt-Gratzer continued.
For the host it was the third time that the United fans came together in his restaurant. “It is always a lot of fun,” he said – despite the serious background of the meeting.
