The dispute between the Premier League and the English champion Manchester City continues to escalate. According to reports, Starcoach Pep Guardiola’s trouble has again taken legal action against the league, which in turn determines against the Citizens.

As the British “Times” and the “Daily Mail” unanimously report, City is now proceeding against the sponsorship rules revised and tightened a few months ago. The regulations on so-called Associated Party Transactions (APT) consider the city bosses to be unlawful.

The APT is intended to limit financial support from Premier League clubs by companies that have close connections to the clubs they sponsored. City had already sued the regulations last year.

An independent arbitration court had initially judged that some of the regulations are actually illegal. As a result, the regulations were partially changed and then decided by the majority of the Premier League clubs. In addition to MAN City, only Aston Villa, Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest voted against the introduction.

Premier League sees himself in the right to Manchester City

According to reports, Manchester City’s lawyers have now informed the Premier League managers that they are aiming for further arbitration trial on the changed APT rules.

League boss Richard Masters, on the other hand, confirmed in a letter that is the “Times” that the APT rules are considered final and will capture it. The new rules remain in force during the ongoing procedure. An appointment for the next hearing was initially not clear.

The Premier League is currently investigating financial violations in 115 cases against City, which denies the allegations. A decision is expected in the near future. However, an end to the disputes between the series master of recent years and the league is not foreseeable.

Manchester City gives Kayky again

Meanwhile, the Skyblues awarded the Brazilian offensive player Kayky to EC Bahia for the rest of the season in his home country. The 21-year-old spent the first half of the season-also on a loan-at Sparta Rotterdam in the Eredivisie. In 2021, City Kayky was committed to Fluminense for 10 million euros.
