Man steals police helmet, theft becomes expensive joke

A 24-year-old man from Breda was arrested on Sunday morning because he had run off with a police helmet. This happened on the Hill in Tilburg. The theft is an expensive joke for the Breda resident, because he has dropped the helmet on the ground, it can no longer be used. A new helmet costs 575 euros and the installation of the necessary equipment another 574 euros.

The man saw his chance when a motorcycle police officer responded to a report in a bicycle shed in the center of Tilburg around a quarter past four. He got off, put his helmet on the bike and walked to the garage.

Another officer who was nearby saw that the Breda resident walked to the motorcycle, took the helmet and put it on his head and walked away. He took off the helmet some distance away and dropped it. The Breda resident was immediately arrested for (attempted) theft of the helmet.
