The facts took place around 6 p.m. at the leisure house on the Markt, the former town hall of Torhout. The man smashed several windows with his bare fists, both at the front and at the rear of the building.
Some passersby were able to hold the man until the police arrived. He was arrested and taken to hospital. It is not yet clear what inspired him. The police are investigating the case as an attempted theft with forced entry.
