The emergency services were called to the De Gotelaar district just before 10 hours. They found the lifeless body in Devriese’s home. The man himself stepped out of life in the same house where he shot his 75-year-old woman in January 2023. He then stated that the firearm accidentally went off during a fight. Later it turned out that his wife would leave him.
Devriese was in custody for a long time, but was now under electronic supervision pending the process. The assize process, planned for Friday, October 10, will not continue due to his death.
