Man (52) makes false report about stabbing, called 112 more often for nothing

A 52-year-old man from Beek en Donk was arrested on Thursday morning after making a false 112 report. He told on the phone that a seriously injured man would be lying on the street in Helmond with stab wounds on his chest. But nothing turned out to be the case. It was not the first time the man called the emergency number for nothing.

The agents were sent to the Pastor van Leeuwenstraat in Helmond at nine o’clock. The man told the dispatcher that there had been a stabbing. A man is said to be lying on the street in a critical condition.

More false alerts
After some investigation by the police, it turned out that the man from Beek en Donk has often made false reports. He was arrested and is being questioned at the station.

The police take false 112 reports very seriously. “Agents who go there cannot be deployed for an emergency elsewhere, which do really happen. We see making a false report as a crime and take this very seriously,” the police said.
