A new episode starring Malena Pichot and Diego Leuco re-ignited the public discussion around the figure of the president Javier Milei. The trigger was a video in which the president is seen participating in a musical show with his partner, Fatima Floreza scene that generated conflicting interpretations and ended in a direct crossover between both communicators.
During a radio segment, Leuco expressed his discomfort with the image of the President on stage. “Of course there are people who find him fantastic and who idolize him, it seems very strange to me,” he said, while maintaining that, in a context plagued by fires and other serious problems, the head of state should show greater sobriety. However, the journalist sought to put his position into perspective and clarified that his annoyance was not exclusive to Milei: he recalled similar situations involving Cristina Kirchner, Alberto Fernandez and Mauricio Macriand stressed that he was always bothered by the lack of harmony between the presidential role and the social climate of the country.
The answer did not take long to arrive. In another program, Pichot was blunt in rejecting any comparison. He described Milei’s show as “delirious” and maintained that it is not comparable with gestures of other leaders. “He is a person who is singing, shouting and dancing like someone without any social code,” he stated, and stressed that “no president does that,” considering that the level of eccentricity and public exposure of the current president is unprecedented.
The exchange quickly went viral on social networks and once again revealed the strong polarization that surrounds Milei. While some celebrate his disruptive style and read it as a break with the traditional solemnity of power, others interpret it as a lack of decorum incompatible with the presidential inauguration. The crossing between Pichot and Leuco condensed, in a few minutes of air time, a discussion that runs through much of the Argentine public debate today.
