Makwan Amirkhani was brutally knocked out! The other eye swelled up

Amirkhan’s road in the Octagon tournament ended in the opening round.

Makwan Amirkhani35, suffered a loss in the Czech Oktagon promotion’s €1 million tournament in Ostrava.

The start came from the Austrian in the opening round Mochamed Machaevi, 24, against. Maechaev knocked out Amirkhan in the third round and thus advances to the quarterfinals of the lightweight tournament.

The winner of the tournament receives a prize pool of 300,000 euros.

Eye closed

In the first set, Machaev was more proactive in the standings. He threw punches and hit them. First, Amirkhan’s nose began to bleed.

Soon there was a heavy hit in the left corner of the eye. It caused a hematoma that swelled the eye.

Amirkhani looked for takedowns from Machaev’s leg and succeeded in doing so for a couple of shots, but the Austrian squirmed away.

The start of the second round was promising for Amirkhan, as he was already tightening up his bravura technique, the anaconda choke. Machaev broke free.

Then Mr. Finland started to whistle. He took heavy hits to his jaw throughout the rest of the round. Machaev was much more lively. He led after two rounds on all judges’ papers.

Amirkhani needed an ending. Then his match and tournament ended. The three-match lasted only a few seconds before Machaev’s left hook dropped Amirkhan to his knees. After a couple more hits, the referee intervened.

Victory by KO verdict for Macaev.

The loss was Amirkhan’s third in a row in professional cages. His UFC career ended less than a year ago.
