Turning 52 this week Jaromir Jagr will be honored Sunday in Pittsburgh when his No. 68 jersey will be draped over the roof of the Penguins’ home arena against the Los Angeles Kings.

On Saturday, the Czech legend took part in training in penguin jerseys after a 23-year hiatus. Despite his age, Jagr is in great shape, as he has also played in the Czech Extraliga this season for Kladno, which he owns.

Jagr’s visit lightened the mood for a team stuck outside the playoff spots. Kris Letang honored the presence of the iconic puck player by chilling at the rink in a slicked-back wig. The same hairstyle made number 68 famous in the league in the 90s.

Jagr is Mario Lemieux and By Michel Brier after the third Penguins player whose achievements the club appreciates the shirt freezing ceremony.

– It’s a great honor. I’ve never been a gamer who craves celebrations or anything like that, but this is something special.

Jagr, booked by the Penguins in 1990, represented the Washington Capitals, New York Rangers, Philadelphia Flyers, Dallas Stars, Boston Bruins, New Jersey Devils, Florida Panthers and Calgary Flames in the NHL after his Pittsburgh years ended in 2001.

In 1733 regular season games, Jagr scored 1921 (766+1155) power points.
