A major fire has broken out at the Giestee in Dalen. The flames are shooting meters high from a barn.
The fire and smoke can be seen right along the N34. Fire brigades from Emmen, Schoonebeek, Hoogeveen and Sleen, among others, have been called to extinguish the fire.
The barn is considered lost.
