Bundesliga soccer team FSV Mainz 05 will continue to have to make do without Stefan Bell in the relegation battle.
The central defender suffered a mild myocarditis as a result of a persistent bacterial infection. The penultimate team announced this on Wednesday.
The finding is the result of ongoing check-ups. Bell (32) has not completed any training sessions with the team this year other than individual rehabilitation measures and will continue to take a break.
The veteran had already missed the training camp in Marbella/Spain because of the infection.
