Talented striker Nelson Weiper from 1. FSV Mainz 05 has had to undergo further arthroscopic surgery on his knee. It is the second operation on the knee after one in September 2023. “The operation was successful,” the Bundesliga club announced on Saturday. The 18-year-old is already back in Mainz to begin rehabilitation measures immediately. It was not announced how long Weiper will be absent from Rheinhessen. He was already missing from the start of training after the winter break. The attacker made his last of four appearances this season on September 2nd against Werder Bremen (0:4).
