Announced before game against Schalke
Silvan Widmer has prematurely extended his contract with 1. FSV Mainz 05 until the summer of 2026. This was announced by the currently injured FSV captain and the club on Friday evening shortly before the Bundesliga home game against second-bottom FC Schalke 04. The original contract expired on June 30, 2024.
