Telekom is launching a new initiative to promote German musicians. In the MagentaMusik Originals series, the company presents artists and their work with the support of the Federal Association of the Music Industry.

Two formats are created by the initiative. “Wortspiel” is a video series in which artists talk about their own song in an intimate setting and reveal the story of how it came about. What drives artists when writing songs, what impressions, experiences and images does a song grow from?

In “Feel I”, the second format, artists talk about artists who inspire them and let the viewers share in their passion. The first episode with Leslie Clio is out HERE to see.

26 episodes per format have already been shot. Gregor Hägele, Kelvin Jones, Madeline Juno, Alexa Feser and Esther Graf, among others, have their say in the episodes. Each episode runs 15 to 20 minutes and is available in the media library after the first broadcast.

Great opportunity for young musicians

“We believe in journalistically produced and exclusive content to inspire our customers, music fans and especially young people,” explains Telekom TV boss Arnim Butzen.

“We want to give artists who don’t yet have their place in the radio stations’ playlists a stage to learn more about them and their art,” adds co-initiator Konrad von Löhneysen, managing director of the production company Oyeaz GmbH and board member of the federal association music industry. “We have found the right partner for this in Telekom. The aesthetic of MagentaMusik Originals is modern, catchy and made for a young target group.”
