Actor Dean Cain, known from the “Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman” (1993–1997), announced in the FOX-News show Jesse Watters Primetime, that he should be sworn in “as soon as possible” as an ICE agent.
Cain joins ICE campaign
Dean Cain in Idaho was already sworn in as a reserve police officer in Idaho and in 2022 in Virginia as a reserve sheriff. Now he wants to join the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). “Our immigration system is broken. The congress has to repair it. In the meantime, President Trump implements exactly what he was chosen for – and I will contribute to my part.”
Dean Cain had previously shared an ICE recruitment video on Instagram without being a member of the authority himself. “I wasn’t part of ICE yet, but after I posted it and you [Watters] that made a short contribution to this, it went viral, ”said Cain. In the meantime, he has spoken to ICE-officials.
In the video Cain, among other things, the $ 50,000 entry bonus, legal study repayments and the new regulation that no college is no longer necessary to apply. The Superman title song ran in the background. He praised ICE for having arrested “hundreds of thousands of criminals” since Trump’s taking office, including “terrorists, rapists, murderers and pedophiles”.
Violence in arrests and criticism of Hollywood
ICE is increasingly criticized: Videos show civil servants how to strike the window pane of a car with a pregnant woman, brutally beat a man crouching on the ground or use tear gas alongside small children. In some cases, even US citizens were incorrectly arrested.
The Ministry of Homeland (DHS) has started to forced Fema employees to ICE-if there is a refusal, the termination threatens. In July, 608 million dollars from feman funds were redirected to finance deportation centers.
Trump announced that his new immigration facility in Florida, called “Alligator Alcatraz”, should record “the most dangerous people in the world”. According to the Miami Herald research, however, only a third of the approximately 900 inmates have a criminal record. Around 250 were recorded exclusively for violations of immigration law.
Dean Cain criticizes “Woken” Superman
In July, Dean Cain expressed lack of understanding that it was presented as negative if one demands compliance with the immigration laws. At the same time, he complained that Hollywood Superman made “Woke”. Director James Gunn, responsible for the current Superman film, said: “Superman is the story of America-an immigrant who wants to do good. It’s about compassion, something we have lost.”
Cain contradicted: “I think it is a mistake to present Superman as an immigration symbol. This will have a negative impact on the number of viewers.”
