Madonna postpones tour but is on the mend

Madonna returned with an update on her upcoming tour and her current health. The singer had to be hospitalized last month due to a bacterial infection.

On June 24, Madonna was found unconscious in her room. One of her assistants discovered her in her room. She was then taken to the emergency room, where she later recovered. Officials say Madonna contracted a bacterial infection while preparing for her “Celebration” tour. Her family was already preparing for the worst.

After five days in hospital, Madonna was discharged and has been recovering at her New York apartment ever since. On Monday (July 10) she published the first post since her discharge from the hospital on her Instagram account. In the post, she thanks her fans for the numerous get well wishes, positive energy, prayers and encouragement during her illness.

“I hate disappointing people”

In the post, Madonna says she is on the mend and shares her thoughts on the current situation. “My first thought when I woke up in the hospital was my children. My second thought was that I didn’t want to disappoint anyone who bought tickets for my tour.” She also didn’t want to let down the people who had been working with her on her show for the past few months. “I hate disappointing people.”

She is now focused on her health and getting stronger again. “And I can assure you, I will be with you again as soon as possible!”. The current plan is to redate the North American tour and start in Europe in October. The “Celebration” tour was originally scheduled to start on July 15 in Vancouver, Canada.

Fans and followers took to Madonna’s comments section on Monday to share their congratulations, including a handful of celebrities. “We are with you all the time Madonna. Thinking of you and sending you love, strength and hugs for a speedy recovery. The world can’t wait to see you back on stage!!! I love you very much ♥️ Donatella,” commented fashion designer Donatella Versace.
