The favorites haven’t celebrated at Roland Garros.

Aryna Sabalenka slipped the match from her jumps. PDO

A really surprising tournament is being played in France. There aren’t any Grand Slam winners left on the singles charts – not in the men’s, not in the women’s.

The latest surprise was experienced on Wednesday in the women’s quarterfinals. Top of the WTA ranking list and ranked number one at Roland Garros Aryna Sabalenka went from a clear lead to a loss For Diana Shnaider.

– No thoughts, no feelings, Sabalenka opened her speech at the press conference.

– Right now I just want to stop playing tennis, but we’ll see in a few days.

Sabalenka won the opening set and led the second 4–1, but eventually succumbed 6–3, 5–7, 0–6.

– I don’t know when was the last time this happened to me, that I lose ten games in a row. I think I mentally sank into a very deep, dark hole, and I couldn’t get back on track.

In the semi-finals, Shnaider will meet the one who advanced to the main series Maja Chwalinska. In the second pair they meet Mirra Andreeva and Marta Kostyuk.

Andreeva is the highest ranked of the quartet: eighth.

Zverev’s turn?

Placed fourth on the men’s side Felix Auger Alias lost on Wednesday For Flavio Coboll 6–4, 4–6, 4–6, 4–6.

The championship is offered to the experienced runner-up Alexander Zverev. He has played three Grand Slam finals in his career, but the big win is still elusive.

Zverev will meet in the semifinals Jakub Mensikin. Coboll’s opponent is Matteo Arnaldi.
